The ARCS conference focuses on medicines regulation, clinical research and the utilisation of medical technologies and therapeutics across Australia and New Zealand. The theme for the ARCS 2022 Conference was “Working together for success”. There was a wide variety of educational streams to choose from, including pharmacovigilance, data technology and informatics, innovation, reimbursement, and clinical research operations to name a few.
Our Director, Medical Information Projects Manager and Medical Information Consultant attended the program over two days. Sessions attended included presentations on “The New Frontier – Delivering Better Healthcare for all Australians” report, National Medicines Policy update, the use of real world evidence, and the evolving landscape in the assessment of drug exposures during pregnancy. Consumers and consumer advocates were well represented on panel discussions. There were several presentations focussing on various professional roles within the pharmaceutical industry. Important information was gained about the pending changes to regulatory systems including the DAEN and other Pharmacovigilance aspects.
Not only keeping up to date with relevant material, attending the conference also provides a great opportunity to catch up with other colleagues within the industry, and make new acquaintances.
